Do you really like yourself?

I hope you do, because God Himself likes you. And He knows all about you, your dark sides, attitude problems, inner feelings, not so pure imagination etc. And still, He can`t but like you and love you. He wants you to be His friend.

And why is this so important to know?

It is because of the relationships: between you and God, you and others, and finally you and you, your best buddy!

Selfesteem is sometimes so complicated to figure out: is it low or high, good or bad, strong to or weak? So let us forget the whole psycho jargon for a while and let us speak about this relationship thing. Relationship means to be related with somebody, or even to be a relative with somebody. The closer we are with our friends, the free`er we are with them; we can be honest, relaxed, casual, non- pretending…just being what we are.

Our closest relative is ourself. If you hate this guy, how can you live with him/ her 24/7? Of course there are things we don`t like in our lives and we want to get better. But the first step is not hate, but love. When we realize that God, our Creator really likes us, we learn to like ourselves and this gives us motivation plus strength to grow into His likeness. Hate is always a negative force and it won`t help us to become, what we were meant to be.

Love is a positive force. With it you can laugh at yourself, you can enjoy being with yourself and it will never make you arrogantly proud. The love of God is the strongest force in the universe: when you trust Him, you find the full salvation.

As you notice, I am not a native English writer, but so what. I just wanted to tell you in a simple way, that stop hating yourself. As a follower of Jesus Christ I would encourage you to find out, who this Jesus is and why He wants to show you His love, be your relative, have you in a close relationship with Him.

Satan`s worst nightmare: God`s dreamer

If your God is like a tiny, almost invisible flee, then your dreams will be good for the secondhand fleemarket. Even atheists have bigger dreams, with which they try to transform the world.

The bigger your God, the bigger your dreams.

Our God is omnipotent and omni- anything. Start believing Him, trusting Him and acting accordingly. Start having dreams that are becoming as big as He is, start dreaming with God. You will be in a good company: Joseph of the Old Testament was a dreamer and he saved Egypt. Joseph of the New Testament saw dreams and he took care of the becoming Saviour.

The God dreamers shall become changemakers! In the power of the Holy Spirit they will become satan`s worst nightmare!

Spirit and spirits

– I don`t believe in the spirits- I believe in the Holy Spirit.
– I don`t want to be just in high spirits- I want to be energized by the Holy Spirit.
– I don`t want to be drunk by the spirits- I want to be enlivened by the Holy Spirit.
– I don`t want to be enchanted by the spirits- I want to be free in the Holy Spirit.

With the Holy Spirit there is always more to know about God`s love, more to experience God`s miracles, more to enjoy the good and Godly life. With Him you will be lost in wonder and praise.

With the spirits there is always more uncertainty, more fear, more confusion. With them you will be lost in darkness.

Choose well!

C like Christmas?

No! C like cakes, candies, chocolate and calories.

At Christmas you have to eat well. From the Christmas Eve and Day, the Second C.Day ( or the Boxing Day, or the Day of St. Stephanos) all the way to the New Year people, at least in Finland eat almost all the time.

I just don`t want to go to the details. Maybe you can imagine, what it means to have many heavy meals and constant coffee breaks every day in a week. At least the shopkeepers are happy, the parents are exhausted and the children suffer from sugar overdoses.

Who invented this kind of X´mas headache? I wrote X`mas instead of Christmas, because this season sickness has nothing to do with the original Christmas in Bethlehem two thousand years ago.

Is Christmas season a reason to eat and drink too much and hurry here and there? Is there any way to turn back to the silent and holy night, where we can relax in the presence of the Holy Baby, feel the excitement of the Shepherds, when they hear the angels sing glory to God?

It is up to us to decide: c for calories, or C for Christ.

I am not against the good meals and I don`t want to spoil your Christmas traditions. All I want to say is that Jesus Christ is always more than heavy meals or traditions. He is the source of the real peace and joy. He is not a religion with empty relics. He is the Person, the Saviour, with whom we may have a deep and loving and eternal relationship.

I pray that this Christmas will take us all to see the beauty of God in the face of the Baby in Bethlehem. Near Him we can be empowered to meet the challenges of the next year.

Joseph, the dreamer

Joseph, a man and a dreamer, quite a combination, especially today. There was one Joseph in the Old Testament and one in the New, both saw dreams, both followed their dreams.

To see dreams is quite normal, even for men. To follow the dreams sounds a bit weird, especially with the men. Ladies, please don`t be offended, we men are different in some areas ( I may be wrong, though). If you say that he is a dreamer, it sounds some what not so manly. But she being a dreamer is ok. Why? You tell me!

My point is to say that those two Josephs, dreamers were men with great courage and strength. They were men, who saved their families and finally were used by God to save nations. The first Joseph became the leader in Egypt to save both the Egyptians and the Israelis from starvation. The second Joseph were courageous enough to marry virgin Mary, who was pregnant, to take her down to Bethlehem, then the whole family further down to Egypt and back to Galilee again. All this following the dreams sent by God.

Think about this for a moment:
– an Israeli boy becoming a great leader in a mighty Egypt to save his nation
– a young Jewish man marrying a pregnant village girl, believing the message of an Angel about Her divine pregnancy, taking her and then also the boy on all those dangerous roads here and there through mountains and deserts..to take care of the Saviour of the World

– would we do the same?
– wouldn`t it need some courage…and a lot of faith in God, who speaks us in many ways, even through dreams!

Be a praying dreamer to dream with God. Enjoy His presence and let His love fill your heart with hope, peace and joy. Some day He will send you to tell messages about Christmas and Easter: Jesus was born, Jesus carried our sins and sicknesses on the cross, Jesus rose from the death and He is coming back.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year 2013 with great dreams about God`s good plans for you!

Hakee kirkosta tunnelmaa

On lupa etsiä paikka hiljentymiselle.
